Rainbowland

In one of Sognefjorden's many sidearms, Indrefjorden at the end of Arnefjorden, we moor surrounded by the sound of water gushing down the rocks all around us. The next day, we explore these in more detail, climbing the over 1000 meter high mountains by foot. During the hike we are rewarded not only with gorgeous scenery but also with copious amounts of blueberries.

Turning towards the open sea once again in search of more wind and waves, we make a brief stop at Ortnevik curiously examining the fish farming equipment stored there. Our exit from the fjord is brilliantly illuminated by many concentric rainbows. Quickly making progress towards the south with a strong breeze from behind, we eventually anchor in the very scenic Vikigevagen. A moderate breeze takes us further south, however the wind dies before we can reach our final destination and tie up on a ferry dock in Frekhaug.

From here we set set off to quite a slow start which soon increases to some tacking fun through the Byfjorden and beyond to reach the southern end of the Austevoll Archipelago where we dock in an old fishing town named Bekkjarvik. Making most of the sunny weather, we tack through the Langenuen and Klosterfjorden against a moderate to fresh breeze from sunrise to sunset. Finally arriving in Haugesund, we weather out a rainy and gusty day here.
