The Home Stretch

While the wind is still blowing from the south we decide to explore further inland and sail up the beautiful Stigfjorden to Stenungsund. With a moderate breeze from the Swedish mainland we make our way through the narrow channels between the many little islands dotting the coast back into the Baltic Sea. Passing many little picturesque villages on the small islands we finally make fast at Kullavik in a heavy downpour. Further south along the coast the islands slowly recede and finally disappear completely before we moor in Träslövsläge while the sun extinguishes itself in sea behind us. The favorable wind quickly brings us back into Danish waters and we enter the Øresund where we pick up Nils again at Snekkersten. With this crew we are able quickly traverse with out stopping into the southern Baltic, past Møn and Falster, back into the Lübecker Bucht. After two amazing days and nights of sailing to complete our journey we are both glad and sad to arrive in our home port with the sunrise.
